What is the the best treatment for pre-menapause symptoms apart from hormone replacement therapy?

hormone replacement
Euno4400 asked:

I am a lady, 44 years of age and am going through the pre-menapause symptoms especially headaches, hot flashes, irregular periods and digestive disorders. Ive been to my GP and said he can only prescribe HRT if my symptoms get worse and only gave me some pain killers. I understood clearly the reasons why the GP could not prescribe the HRT and i would like to go through the process without them. I have done some browsing on the internet and im trying a few things which are not giving me an immediate relief i need as i have to work almost daily. If there is someone who knows what i am talking about, can they share their experiences so i can learn from them.

Exercises and a healthy diet, make sure you keep up with your vitamins. The best fight is a healthy one.

I don’t believe you’ll find IMMEDIATE relief with any treatment…including HRT. I would start searching internet sites relating to menopause and the use of soy. There have been some studies showing that Asian women have much less menopausal symptoms, due to their high soy intake. Good luck.

there are some otc vitamins available like estroven. this is supposed to help with hot flashes. most of what i have read to help with the symptoms is a healthy diet and of course, regular exercise. isn’t that what they suggest for just about everything that ails us?

Black Cohosh (the herb, Puritan’s Pride markets it on the internet) helped me. Also, cutting out fat as much as possible. This is difficult, but if you are really uncomfortable, its worth the effort.

Soya bean products.Try making this health drink .it was reported that drinking soya product can provide immediate relief without any side effect.Try this easy to prepare soya drink.soak about 100gems to 250gms of soya bean(if you can get organic soya bean this is much better) for about 1-2 hours or until fully expanded and soft.Rinse and transfer to a blender and add sufficient water(3parts water to 1 part soya bean)and blend thoroughly.Sieve and keep aside the residue and use the milk.Bring to boil , keep an eye on the lather during boiling & stir continuously to break the foam.
Then add sufficient sugar for taste,if you prefer you can drink unsweetened. You can also prepare more and refrigerate the excess for next day.The concentration and dilution depends on individual taste, suit yourself

Menopause can occur in some women of very young ages, first you need some blood tests to explore your hormone levels and exclude things like thyroid condition or simple hormone imbalance. There are natural products like soy and linseed bread, soy products like yogurt and milk. There are also many natural supplements available in health food shops and recently on the market a menopause testing kit. Nothing will work immediately as it takes time for vitamins and minerals to build up in your system, my recommendation is to just treat the symptoms as they occur pain killers for headaches, settling agents for your stomach…a naturapath could also be helpful good luck!
