Is Alcohol okay on the zone diet?

zone diet
Funny Guy asked:

Based on the methodology of the zone it would seem that you would be able to drink as much alcohol as you want as long as it wasn’t mixed with anything as distilled alcohol and wines have a zero effect on insulin (0 glycemic index and 0 glycemic load.) I would like help on this as it confuses me and I am not sure if I should take out blocks or not.

Alcohol is not ok on any diet. It is full of bad calarioes, and anyone who told you that it has no effect on your blood sugar dont know what they are talking about. It does bad things to your blood sugar. My mom is Diabetic and she really has to watch herself when she drinks.

No. Alcohol on low carb diet is not a concern with respect to carbohydrates but metabolism. Alcohol lowers mmetabolismand thus the eeffectivenessof the diet. Also due to the diuretic flush the fatty acids that have been converted into energy ssourcefor your metabolism is also flushed away. This leaves to week and ddelaysyour diet 1-2 weeks time.
