There are books on the zone diet and even the website that has some good information on it (zonediet.com). It does work and once you get used to how you are supposed to eat, it gets really simple. It depends on how bad your diet is now, a lot of your bad food choices obviously need to be thrown out and replaced with healthier options. But, this is the change you are looking to make anyway if you are interested.
The principle is to eat for the size you want to be, not the size you are, and then split that into the number of servings you should eat per day and the number of servings at each meal and snack you should eat. 1 serving is 7grams of protein, 10 grams of cabs and 3 grams of fat. So a meal might be 5 servings which is 35gm protein, 50gm carbs and 15gm fat.
Hope that helps

It doesn’t work very well. The premise is pretty sound (eat good sources of carbs, protein, and healthy fat) but during those times when you indulge yourself the diet requires you to eat some odd stuff. For example, if you want to drink some beer you have to eat hard-boiled eggs and olives with it. How many people do you know that can stomach that?
There’s a better diet: The Abs Diet. It was created by a team at Mens Health magazine, and it works for men or women. It’s a common sense approach that doesn’t require you to count calories, cut out entire food groups, or give up everything that you love. You can find the book at any major bookstore, and it’s hard to miss — the cover is bright orange. Definitely worth checking out.

Zone diet is one of the most superior weight loss diets that have been around. What separates this diet from the other so-called effective diets is that Zone diet is a lifestyle. It is not simply a program. It tries to incorporate controlled changes in your daily living that will help you combat aging, lose weight and improve your physical performance every day.
